NyayaMitra ("we", "our", or "us") is a Karnataka legal AI assistant operated by the NyayaMitra team. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our mobile application and website.
1. Information We Collect
- Mobile number: Collected during registration for OTP-based authentication.
- Name: Optionally provided by you during sign-up.
- Legal queries: The questions you type into the chat are stored to improve response quality and for logging purposes.
- Payment information: If you subscribe to a paid plan, payment is processed by Razorpay. We do not store your card details — only the transaction ID and plan status.
- Usage data: Basic metadata such as query count, response latency, and plan type for service improvement.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To authenticate you via OTP and maintain your session.
- To provide AI-generated legal guidance tailored to Karnataka law.
- To process and verify subscription payments.
- To improve the accuracy and quality of AI responses.
- To send transactional SMS (OTP only — no marketing messages).
3. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services that may process your data:
- Supabase — database and authentication storage (servers in Mumbai, India).
- MSG91 — OTP SMS delivery to your mobile number.
- Razorpay — payment processing for paid plans. Subject to Razorpay's Privacy Policy.
- Anthropic (Claude) — AI model used to generate legal responses.
- OpenAI (GPT-4o) — AI model used to generate legal responses.
- Google (Gemini) — AI model used to generate legal responses.
- Railway — cloud hosting for our backend API.
Your queries may be processed by the above AI providers for the purpose of generating responses. We do not sell your data to any third party.
4. Data Retention
- OTPs are automatically deleted after use or after 5 minutes.
- Your account data (name, phone number, plan) is retained while your account is active.
- Legal queries are retained for up to 12 months for service improvement.
- You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us.
5. Data Security
We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), secure API keys, and access-controlled databases. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.
6. Children's Privacy
NyayaMitra is intended for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect information from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal data, please contact us immediately.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate data.
- Request deletion of your account and associated data.
- Withdraw consent at any time by discontinuing use of the app.
